Arrival Lipari: early morning
Departure Lipari: late afternoon
Out of the seven Aeolian islands, this is the largest and most populated. Located off the northern coast of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Lipari is a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage site. Its lava stone quarries and the red rocks show its volcanic past. The main town proudly features a grand citadel and a castle, both with roots from ancient times. As you walk deeper into the center, you will be amazed to find a Norman cathedral with a beautiful facade. During this day, just like the heroes of ancient myths, you will also have the chance to sail by and view Stromboli, the highly active volcano that rises above the Aeolian Islands. Its constant activity over thousands of years has earned it the famous name, the Lighthouse of the Mediterranean.
