Ancient Treasures of Greece: A Voyage Through Time

Begin your day with an optional excursion to Ancient Epidaurus, renowned for its healing sanctuary, and the awe-inspiring theater, famed for its symmetry. Return for lunch on the ship, then sail to the charming town of Nafplion, where you'll spend the night in port.

After a short walking tour of Nafplion, take a scenic drive through the beautiful Argolis countryside to reach Mycenae for an optional excursion. This legendary city, famously described by Homer as "rich in gold," was a major center of Greek civilization from 1650 BC until its decline around 1100 BC. Here, you'll explore the impressive ruins, including the iconic Lion's Gate, the entrance to the ancient citadel. Visit the Palace and the so-called Tomb of Agamemnon, which is thought to be the burial site of the famous king. After lunch on board, sail towards Monemvasia for an overnight journey at sea.

Arrive early in Gythion, once the naval base of ancient Sparta. An optional excursion will take you through the rugged Mani Peninsula to explore the Diros Caves, filled with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Afterward, enjoy a brief stroll through Areopolis. Return to the ship for an overnight sail.

Arrive in the charming seaside town of Pylos, a place of stunning natural beauty and profound historical significance. Nestled in the southwest of the Peloponnese, Pylos is known for its pivotal role in the Battle of Navarino in 1827, a key naval battle that contributed to Greek independence. On the optional excursion, visit the Palace of Nestor, one of the best-preserved Mycenaean palaces in Greece. This ancient archaeological site offers a glimpse into the life of the legendary King Nestor, as described in Homer's Iliad. Following the palace, explore the Archaeological Museum of Hora, which houses a wealth of artifacts discovered at the site. Sail through the night.

Arrive early in Katakolon for an optional excursion to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Visit the ancient stadium, temples of Zeus and Hera, and the incredible Olympia Museum. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon before heading to Itea. Overnight at sea.

The morning offers an optional excursion to Delphi, where you'll explore the awe-inspiring ruins nestled in the mountains. After a half-day tour, return to the ship and cross the Corinth Canal. The evening ends with a Captain's Farewell Dinner as we sail to Marina Zeas. Overnight in port.
