Bol

Bol, the island's largest and most populated town, is the earliest coastal settlement on Brac.
Bol is located south of the island, at the base of Vidova Gora (Vid Mountain), the highest peak in all of the Adriatic, standing at 778 m.

There are many stunning beaches in the Bol region, including the internationally renowned Zlatni Rat (Golden Cape). Almost half a kilometre of this beach sticks out like a tiny tongue into the calm blue water, making it a truly extraordinary natural phenomenon. Small gravelly pebbles are deposited and sedimented around the underwater reef, causing it to expand. The beach's northern tip constantly shifts as it attempts to comply with the waves and calm sea currents.

About 2 kilometres west of the town centre, you'll find the beach and the pleasant promenade that winds through the pine trees and along the sea to get there. The small scenic train is only active during the day, but it may be an option if you do not like walking.

The sum of these parts is the island of Brac, a place where nature and history come together in a way that is nothing short of poetic.
